The Burrow Family Camping

A great base for outdoor adventure, the Burrow is available for family and friends year round.

The burrow is a unique building, set into the hillside. Behind those huge front doors you’ll find an open plan central area. To the rear is the kitchen area, comprising a sink with cold running water and worktops, with a four-burner inset gas-hob. The wood-burning stove adds a warm homely touch.. Tables and benches in the centre provide a dinning and social space.

Winter evenings will be chilly, but the wood burner is a lovely focal point. Sit and chat, play games and enjoy a nice warm cup of hot chocolate.

Along each side canvas panels form the bedroom areas, each with several bunk beds. You’ll need to bring your own sleeping bags and bedding. The Woodburner is the only heating, so do keep in mind you’ll want warm PJs and sleeping bags for a cosy night.

For a truly outdoor experience the whole roof can slide back into the hillside, letting in the sun or giving you a great view on a starry night.

Please bring with you all that you need for your stay. Lighting on site is limited so a torch is essential although The Burrow itself does have solar lighting. You’ll also need to bring along your own toilet roll and soap.

While indoors and out of the worst of the weather the burrow can be draughty and is heated by the wood burner. You’ll need warm clothes and bedding for your visit.

Campfires are welcomed in the existing fire pits, please include firewood in your booking.
