As an 18-year old living in Gloucester I had the opportunity, over a couple of weekends, to help with the final stages of the construction of what is now the bunkhouse at Biblins. At the time it lacked windows and the floor was incomplete. However, it provided me with memories that have returned regularly.
So when WF announced that annual gathering was to be held there I didn’t let the 9 hour journey put me off. The building, like myself after half a century, needs a lot of care, attention and refurbishment.
Other developments on site are remarkable, especially the sliding roof on the burrow!
The fine weather helped, but even without that, waking to the spectacle of that wooded wall around the outside of the Wye is not to be missed. If any of our venturers will join me I’ll be back next year.
